The Parable of the Piece of Paper

Like many, I also avoid rumormongers; people who have nothing better to do in their lives so they habitually waste time spreading falsehoods against others.

Avoiding them for me means also staying clear of being an instrument of any spiteful gossip. If people tell me something bad about another, I make sure it ends with me — then the world becomes better.

I’m on this because I just read something inspiring…

Once upon a time an old man spread rumors that his neighbor was a thief. As a result, the young man was arrested. Days later the young man was proven innocent. After he was released he sued the old man for wrongly accusing him. In court the old man told the Judge: “They were just comments, didn’t harm anyone.”

The judge, before passing sentence on the case, told the old man to: “Write all the things you said about him on a piece of paper. Cut them up and on the way home; throw the pieces of paper out and come tomorrow to hear the sentence.”

The next day, the judge told the old man: “Before receiving the sentence, you will have to go out and gather all the pieces of paper that you threw out yesterday.” The old man said: “I can’t do that. The wind spread them and I won’t know where to find them.”

The judge then replied: “The same way, simple comments may destroy the honor of a man to such an extent that one is not able to fix it. If you can’t speak well of someone, rather don’t say anything wrong…

Let’s all be masters of our mouths, so that we won’t be slaves of our words.

Along with this, I inserted a composite image I just recently edited. It has nothing to do with the article. JUST SHARING 🙂

Hotel Centro: After Summer Specials and UR Holidays!

FOR MANY travelers, the basic need to take a trip only peaks when the leaves of summer roll and when the wind begins to bluster freely over serene turquoise sea waters. Undeniably, it is the time of the year that has always been associated with sunshiny liberty and time off from the monotony of urban life.

But of course, and in this day and age when many also do not have bendable enough lifestyle to cherry-pick their ideal travel, the superlative vacation depends on the type of itinerant and the brand of experience he or she requires.

Hotel Centro is Puerto Princesa City’s top-notch hotel.

Traveling during the rainy season has its setbacks, all right. However, it also has advantages, especially if one enjoys leisurely journeys and does not mind stopping a few days to relish the fresh and lush environment, and the sweet smell of the terrain after the rain has washed off dust and lint that have accumulated during the period of dry weather.

The good thing about it is that there are a few travelers to put a strain on your vacation, and affordable deals are available, allowing one to stretch funds to splurge and perhaps stay a bit longer. It is also not scorching for those who shun exposure to too much sunlight, and rain is magical as it adjusts the perspective to think of an opportunity for the family to have quality time indoor in a different place

Fortunately, Puerto Princesa City in the province of Palawan welcomes visitors 365 days a year without let up, and with a plethora of attractive destinations and activities even when the rain is bucketing down.

When sunny vacation is not possible, No. 1 and top-notch Hotel Centro offers “After Summer Specials and UR Holiday” tour bundles that give the chance for travelers to know a different personality of the city when the clouds breeze in.

“There is no reason why travelers cannot enjoy a good vacation in Puerto Princesa even when it’s wet and damp. Each season has its advantages and disadvantages; what is important is that regardless where we want to go, we can knit experiences that will expand our individual and family perspectives. Hotel Centro is here to help travelers to get the best experiences at whatever time of year with its irresistible after summer offerings,” says hotel manager Kharla Luneta.

Hotel Centro lobby comfortably welcomes guests and visitors with large cozy upholstered seats designed for the ultimate traveler.

For P1,488 per person, per night on weekdays, Hotel Centro’s After Summer Special! offers an overnight stay in a superior room with a splendid buffet breakfast for two at the spacious Expressions Cafe that has a special view of its laid-back pool garden. It has airport transfers; available discounts on all F&B outlets, and the Whizza Spa, where one can expect to be treated with a calming experience that knows no rain or summer. If families are traveling with children, Hotel Centro offers two kids, 11 years old and below, free of charge if sharing bed with adults. Luneta said the deal will make it easier for families on a tight budget to plan their vacation and relish Puerto Princesa at its best during the wet season.

UR Holidays is Hotel Centro’s holiday brand. It also has After Summer UR Holiday Specials customized for holidaymakers who are too busy to think of the nitty-gritty of trip arrangements and outline descriptions of the activities they can do.

For P7,228 per person, the UR Holidays All Inclusive offers a 3 days/2 nights stay on twin sharing at Hotel Centro, complete with daily buffet at Expressions Café, where each meal is a celebration of love for life. All Inclusive means holidaymakers can have a tour of three special sites in the city: the PPUR for a wondrous discovery of its naturally-hollowed out place in Cabayugan, Honda Bay for island hopping and seawater exploits, and the City Tour.   One does not leave Puerto Princesa without fully exploring its reachable island stops in Honda Bay off the Sta. Lourdes fishing community. Starfish, Cowrie, Pandan islands, and Luli Island should not be missed under slight rain showers.

For guests and visitors who like to engage in delightful gastronomic journeys, Hotel Centro’s Expressions Cafe is the best place to look for exciting meals.

The UR Holidays Underground River Tour with Beach Excursion brings a minimum booking of two persons at P6,888 per pax to a 3 days/2 nights stay in a Deluxe Room on twin sharing, a guaranteed Underground River Tour, and a Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa day tour at Sitio Sabang on their second day. While there, they can visit the subterranean river, use the swimming pool, jacuzzi and other selected amenities, gain free access to Sheridan’s Sports Bar, and one hour free use of non-motorized aqua sports, such as kayaking.

The UR Holidays Island Excursion is the best tour bundle Hotel Centro has for those who particularly love sand, sea and sky on the islands. At P5,888 for minimum bookings of two persons for 3 days/2 nights, a Deluxe Room is offered on twin sharing, and a grand tour of the Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa on their second day. At Dos Palmas, travelers who own the package can enjoy the use of the playground for their kids, ocean kayaks, snorkeling equipment, recreation centers, and swimming pool among others to mark a striking retreat.

The UR Holidays Kamia Bay Excursion, on the other hand, offers 3 days/2 nights stay for a minimum booking of two persons for a Deluxe Room sharing at Hotel Centro. This is topped with a tour on the second day of their stay of Kamia Bay Resort named after the Tiotangco sisters (daughters of the owner of Hotel Centro), Katrina, Michelle and Angela. While at the bay resort, guests who have availed of the excursion package will be treated to a picnic lunch, use of resort cabanas, floating lightweight wood anchored in the water, kayaks, snorkeling equipment, eco-tour activity, and travel insurance.

Located 7-10 minutes away from the airport, the first-class urban city center Hotel Centro perfectly fits any discerning traveler who opts for places to stay that counterparts Puerto Princesa’s mesmerizing natural environment and vastness.

As a premiere converging point and epicenter of all business, social and leisure events requiring accommodations and top facilities, staying at Hotel Centro is convenient as it is just several minutes away from exciting sights like Honda Bay Islands and the Palawan Wildlife Refuge and Rescue Center (PWRRC), where large aquatic tetrapods can be viewed just about up close and personal. HDR Versions

I’m lagging behind badly doing this photo blog, I know…

It was just really super busy for me the past few days . I was swamped with work, photography, responsibilities at home, my local organization — it’s cruel, but I will live 🙂

Anyway, I shared a raw file for my friends at the Philippine HDR Photographers to play with just a few days ago; they all did very good versions. Here they are 🙂 and here’s the link too, to our group site

My own version is in there somewhere 🙂
